Meet Richard Rowntree DDS, M.A.G.D.
Except for the two years he spent serving his country in during the Vietnam War, Dr. Richard Rowntree has spent his entire life living in the great state of Texas. He was born in Abilene and he earned his Bachelor of Science from Midwestern State University and his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Texas at Houston.
Dr. Rowntree was the first dentist in Kingwood, and it’s been his privilege to watch the community grow. At Rowntree DDS, our patients are also our friends and neighbors and we have strong roots in the community. Dr. Rowntree and our whole team are committed to friendly and compassionate service. Over the years, we’ve built strong and stable relationships with the people of Kingwood and we’ve earned a reputation for exceptional service.
“We moved from San Marcos, make a long story short, my husband and I needed a dentist, well we tried 4 of them. Finally by chance I heard a conversation about Dr Richard Rowntree. You cant believe, it was overwhelming to find such a wonderful kind man and the best in town.”
Dr. Rowntree has developed considerable expertise in dental implants, which we’ve been restoring since the 1980s. He’s a fellow at the prestigious Misch International implant Institute and the International Congress of Oral Implantologists has awarded him Diplomate status, the highest honor they bestow on implant dentists. Dr. Rowntree has also lectured his fellow dentists on oral implantology for Nobel Biocare.
Dr. Rowntree regularly enhances his dental skills and knowledge through continuing education courses from the Dawson Institute, the Spear Study Club, and the Seattle Study Club. He is also a Master of The Academy of General Dentist. This is the highest honor bestowed on its members. Becoming an A.G.D. Master reflects his ongoing commitment to provide quality care to his patients, through the pursuit of continuing education. Less than one percent of the General Dentist in the entire nation and only two percent in the State of Texas have earned this designation.
Therefore, what sets Dr. Rowntree apart is his many years of experience and his pursuit of continuing education throughout his entire career. He is held in highest regard by the Dental Specialist in the area, who refer him multiple patients.
Dr. Rowntree and his lovely wife Kay proudly celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary last year. Their son Jason is a tenured professor of agriculture at Michigan State University and their daughter Kara is a practicing veterinarian in Lubbock. Richard and Kay’s proudest legacy is their five grandchildren: Asa, Rayburn, Katherine, Ella, and Reagan.
